Important Information:
• April is National Poetry Month! In honor of this we will spend the month reading, exploring, and writing poetry. Students must have their poetry packet with them in class everyday! The final poetry project will be due on Friday, April 30! More information to follow.
• We are beginning Grammar Chapter 5 this week! Students will have a variety of opportunities to do challenge and differentiation for this chapter. Watch the syllabus for the different options! The chapter 5 grammar test will be on Thursday, April 22.
• The end of the year field trip permission slip and $45.00 is due on Friday April 9th!
• The 7th Reading Log is due on Tuesday, April 20. Don’t forget signatures!!!

• If anyone has an old electric kettle for boiling water that they do not use anymore or is just taking up space, we would love if it could be donated to the science class. It will not be used to drink from so even if it dirty or rusty we can use it! It is worth extra credit.
• We are going on a Field Trip to the Museum of Science and Industry on April 8th. Money is due NOW!
• We will be started a quick two day project on Wednesday April 7th Where students will bring in materials to construct a cell model in the class. Everyone must bring in some materials to participate. We will be constructing on Friday April 9th and all materials must be in by Wednesday April 7th…Don’t forget to create the labels ahead of time!

o You must also be ready to present this week. The extra credit presentation rehearsal sheet signed by your parent is due on the day you present.

• Students are to spend this week working on the FINAL draft of their Research Paper!
• Upcoming research due dates:
o Monday, March 8: All edited research papers will be returned by today
o Friday, March 12: Typed FINAL of Research Paper is due! This must include a cover pages, works consulted, corrected outline, and your edited rough draft.
• We will be finalizing our persuasive essays this week. Students will have time to make corrections and print their final paper on Tuesday.
• The Chicago Board Options Exchange permission slip and money is due on Tuesday 3/9. Be sure to get those into me ASAP!
